Edgar One Step Closer To Professional Dream

Australia’s Adam Edgar is heading to the UK hoping to gain a place in the much coveted Nike Academy at Burton-Upon-Trent having earned his spot during the Nike Most Wanted trials held in Sydney in early October.

The Academy is seen as a stepping stone for young hopefuls wanting to make a career as a professional footballer.

Edgar is currently part of the Newcastle Jets Youth set up and has had trials at Middlesbrough, Glasgow Rangers, FC Copenhagen and Birmingham City. He will be joined by 59 other hopefuls from around the world in what is fast becoming known as a showcase of some of the best young talent available.

Current Socceroo Tom Rogic is a graduate, while Australian Dejan Pandurevic is already there having earned his place in the Academy last year.
